I have a weird affliction, the subjects I want to photograph normally appear 180 degrees from where the light is peaking.

This morning, however, I was lucky, as the light peaked a mere 120 degrees from my subject (the ocean and its surrounding sea stacks). I tried to do the best I could to block out houses and hotels along the bluffs with sea stacks, and find some arrangement of seastacks that wasn't horrible.

Right after I photographed this I noticed that a rainbow had formed over the ocean and abandoned this direction in order to chase the rainbow (another weird affliction I have).

Of all the sunrises I've photographed on the Pacific coast, this one definitely had the most intense light, and it only lasted for a few minutes.
