This is the queen of our little reserve. It's a Reinamora grande (Cyanocompsa brissonii) or Ultramarine grosbeak in english. There are not too many of them around, in fact we're under the suspicion that there's only one couple. The good thing is that they're territorial so we now where to find them, is just a matter of waiting. It's a really beautiful bird, the female is brown, this one is the male. And, yes, it's a male and it's a queen ("reina"="queen"), insert your joke here :).
I like this one cause it's on the ground, an uncommon view, if you like. The flash plus one the "creative filters" -was being creative before and forgot to turn it of- gave it kind of an oversaturated look which I tried to correct with software, hence the noise... It's weird cause since I started using a new monitor every little processing seems to generate noise and trying to correct it leads to a quality loss. Frustrating.
