Waterfall Country is the fitting name for the region around the three rivers Mellte, Hepste and Nedd Fechan in the Brecon Beacons. As the first two days in South Wales were a bit rainy we decided to make the walk to the upper Ddwli falls starting in Pontneddfechan. On the way there you come across endless smaller and higher cascades and honestly I could spend a week ore longer there exploring and shooting and I think I'd still find new things to photograph. But on this day we only spend 3 hours there and so I stayed with the main falls.

After those three hours of walking around in mud and water with my hybrid shoes my feet already started turning a bit blue ;-) but I also had gotten several nice shots from the area. Prior to the trip it had been raining more often so the rivers and waterfalls were full enough to provide a nice water flow.

Here I was standing in the rushing water to my knees and tried to get a nice blurry shot of the foam rushing by to create a nice lead into the scene. I think the cold feet were worth it. I love this shot. Sure I did a little postprocessing to bring out the beginning Fall colors a bit more but it's close to how I remember it.

have a nice weekend!

cheers
