It's commonly known that the eagle is America's national bird, symbolizing freedom; what's not so commonly known is that Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, preferred the wild turkey, who he considered to be brave, intelligent, and prudent. He thought the eagle, on the other hand, had bad moral character and did not work for his living honestly, as the eagle would often take food from other birds.

However, on June 20th, 1782, the bald eagle became the emblem of the United State, due to its long life, great strength, and majestic looks.

This portrait features the proud and majestic Kili, a resident of the Howell Nature Center in Michigan.
