Following up on the progress of this adorable little Siamang, that I began photographing just a few days after he was born at Khao Kheow Open Zoo (Chonburi, Thailand) on 19th June 2012, pictured here a couple of weeks ago makes him about six months of age and, as you can see, he's full of life, enjoying his sense of adventure, and even branching out on his own …... though not by far; his mum's just out of sight to the left of this frame!

Siamang are gibbons belonging to the ape family, i.e. for the benefit of those new to me going on and on about this, they are NOT monkeys – LOL ;^)

Siamang are native to the rainforests of Thailand, Malaysia, and Sumatra, though their decreasing numbers in the wild has them listed as an Endangered specie, which is why it is so important that there are at least a few conservation orientated venues like Khao Kheow Open Zoo that protect and nurture them.

Wishing you all a wonderful Sunday!
