Shooting in snow at high altitudes and low temperatures is not an easy task and finding subjects in the dead of winter may prove very challenging, but in the end rewarding.

I found this little church near the village of Metsovo along the Pindos mountain range in central Greece, at an altitude of 1300m. Although a clear day, the temp was around -8 degrees C and I had a very hard time handling my gear. The slight breeze was of no help either.

Even if well prepared, you will find your movements restricted due to the heavy clothing and low temperatures, especially your fingers. For practicality reasons I left my tripod in the car and ventured on foot to the location of the church. After locating the spot with the best angle of view, I kneeled into the snow and rested my elbows above my knees for better support.
