Ca' d'Oro (main front alongside the Gran Canal), Venice, Italy. I took this photo early in the morning, last January. This is one of the most known buildings here in Venice. It took about 20 years for its construction, centuries ago. At the very beginning of its long history, some elements of this stunning facade were gold-plated. Moreover, other parts were polychrome. Now all the stones are white and naked. I was attracted by the artificial light from the inside of the house, a sort of trasfiguration of the traditional turistic daytime photo.
