After missing the good light and making initial set of photographs, I kept climbing towards Artist Point. At this time the moon was still well above the top of the mountains in front of me and I wanted to get a shot. I had the 17-40 or the 100-400 lenses: the wide angle made the moon too small and the 100-400 got rid of too much of the scene.

I considered making one exposure for the moon with the telephoto and then one with the wide angle for the landscape and do a composite but decided against it.

3 exposures blended together using multiple exposure blending techniques, luminosity selections and other advanced masking. I created an HDR Photoshop Tutorial and it's available here: www.howardasnyder.com
