This is probably one of the best light that I have seen in San Francisco given that I only go up there a handful of times a year. This image was taken from the Yerba Buena island just outside of the city between the city and the east bay. The light that evening was unbelievable, It was one of those evenings that you know it is going to ignite and it did, it went from this to nuclear explosion later on. I like this beautiful warm light on the back of the city with the bay bridge in the foreground. I hiked down a little more from the usual spot just to get more separation between the cityscape and the bridge. It could get a bit tricky to capture this scene during sunset since the dynamic range is huge, from the back sunlight behind the buildings to the super shadowed section below the bridge. Graduated filters are probably not going to help with that bridge situated there.
This is a 9 image stitch, 3 across and 3 in the vertical plane. Each image is a blend of 3 exposures and I’m still dreaming about the light that day 2.5 years later. :)
