I guess this is kind of an experimental shot for me. For two reasons. First of all I do not like vertical shots and try to avoid them as much as possible. But there are some situations, which require a vertical composition, like today, when the amazing storm clouds were forming only in one direction and even slightly to the left the sky was clear. There was also nothing interesting in the foreground except for this rock. I wanted to emphasize it, and capture the clouds as well. The second reason why this shot is experimental and different, is the post-processing, which is extensive here. I reduced saturation, played with highlights, shadows and contrast and tried to make the shot almost black and white, while retaining the color of the rock and the sunset in the background.
Shot with 1 second exposure at f13, ISO 100, 19 mm and a 3-stop soft Lee GND filter
