As one of the most photographed sites in Burma, I wanted to take an image of the bridge that was perhaps a little different from the "usual" photos that you see. Part of what makes U Bien Bridge so amazing is the bustling activity from locals crossing the bridge at sunrise and sunset. Most photographs tend to kind of highlight this activity. In this photograph, however, I wanted to remove that component of it and focus simply on the bridge. To do this, I chose to shoot with a telephoto lens with a small aperture and slow shutterspeed enabling me to isolate the bridge from the activity.
