I was driving back to Oregon from the Tetons in Wyoming. When I stopped for dinner in Burns I knew that I wasn't going to be able to rally the extra six hours home that night, but I did power out another 130 miles or so to reach Fort Rock. I slept on the side of the road and got up to an amazing high desert light show. After spending eight days of concentrated, high effort photography in Wyoming I think this unplanned 30 minute roadside photo session produced my favorite image from the trip. I have many other images in my portfolio that came about in the same way. Sometimes the best images are the ones you luck into.
