This is the most famous bridge on the Yangtze River. It's a double-decked road-rail truss bridge built in 1968. The lower deck is a double-track railroad that completes the Beijing-Shanghai Railway, which had been divided by the Yangtze for decades. After years of upgrade, this 45-year old bridge is now able to support high-speed trains. Excitingly, when I pushed the shutter on this grey, rainy day, a high-speed train ran into the frame and rushed across the bridge in the lower deck. The large, oval-shaped windshield on the engine can be seen in this photo.
