I've just returned from what could be described as a frugal trip to the northwestern highlands of Scotland. The majority of our time was spent in the tent sheltering away from whatever the Scottish winter weather could throw at us (mostly hazy grey cloud...)

We had spent the previous night up Cul Mor sat in a cloud for the entire time. After a total of 22 hours seeing nothing but fog we walked back to the car with our tail between our legs and decided to head back to Ullapool to spend the night in a B&B. As we drove back we spotted a break in the clouds and made for a loch that overlooked the infamous profile of Stac Pollaidh. We had some great moments of light and battled with the spray from the windswept loch which made shooting a challenging experience but picked up our spirits somewhat.
