These peaks along the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone are so majestic and of ethereal beauty when you're there in person but quite elusive to capture. I got this shot early in the morning when the sun just shone on the near peaks but the valley below was still enshrouded in a bluish haze, providing good contrast. Moments later, everything lit up and the sense of distance was lost. So was the absolute silence as the tour buses started to arrive.
