So... this IS a photograph! :) A very abstract one. It is a grove of aspen trees in front of some red willow in the sierras. I shot this using a technique where you have a slightly slow shutter speed, and as you expose your image, you move the camera quickly upward. It results in this streaky look, resembling a painting of sorts. I probably shot 150 shots at this one place, as each image came out completely different. I think this was my favorite over all because with a little tweaking of contrast, brightness and colors, it looked to me like the glow from a fire deep in the forest. Populus is the scientific name for the Aspen tree, which is actually the largest living organism on earth. Whenever you see a grove of them, they are actually one big tree, all connected together underground by a vast network of roots.
