This is Khan the black leopard, from WHF in Kent. Most leopards are light colored with distinctive dark spots that are called rosettes, because they resemble the shape of a rose. Black leopards, which appear to be almost solid in color because their spots are hard to distinguish, are commonly called black panthers. I spent an amazing day at this WHF where you are able to photograph right up to the bars. Unfortunately, most cats can get their extremely long and powerful paws through those bars and take a swipe at anyone too close! Luckily I had a guide who told me to move when necessary!

This was the first real big cat I had a chance to photograph at such close quarters and it only felt right I did him on black as I did with Athena the black Jaguar....
