This morning held hopes of clouds in RMNP after a clearing storm over the weekend. Jason Hatfield and I set out for Dream Lake early in the morning, as we reached the lake we were greeted by the typical howling winds and a mostly snow covered lake. I would estimate the temperature to be 0 with a wind chill of at least -20, one of the coldest mornings I've experienced. Thankfully the clouds were gracing Hallett Peak and lit up with color for quite a long time, making the pain in my fingers slightly more bearable.
On our way back we stopped at our friend Erik Stensland's gallery for a long chat with one of the nicest guy's you'll ever meet. Erik was at Cub Lake this morning enjoying the light as well.
