Winter in Hangzhou, West Lake 杭州, 西湖冬季 #09 ~ an appreciation of Chinese landscapes

Drop by my Facebook Page for the latest. Due to heavy time constraints, I’ve minimised all activities here but should you be interested, I’ve relegated most photographs to my Sets. I am currently refining my passion in the invisible spectrum (UV-VIS-NIR) while at the same time exploring the basics and challenges of wide-field astrophotography with a DSLR in a light polluted city.

Have a great life ahead!

#9 Breeze-ruffled Lotus at Quyuan Garden (曲苑风荷), 4 January, 2013; another of West Lake’s 10 scenic spots (西湖十景).

During the Southern Song Dynasty of China, Quyuan Courtyard was the site of the imperial winery. When the gentle summer breeze blew through lotuses kept in the lake near the brewery, the "perfume (mix of lotus flowers & alcohol)" was said to make even those not drinking feel intoxicated!

This is the second of my two reflections and is also the last of my "Winter in Hangzhou, West Lake (杭州, 西湖冬季)" series.

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who had stood by me these few weeks while I walked you through these nine scenes. I hope some of you will leave with a better appreciation of Chinese landscapes, or more specifically, Chinese Winter Landscapes.

* For my Facebook friends, the complete series (rejects & also-rans) is in my FB page
