. Located in Utah's Capitol Reef National Park, Pectols Pyramid overlooks the "Waterpocket Fold", a 100 mile long warp in the Earth's crust. Three basalt rock rocks seem wildly out of place among the white and pink sandstone found in the water pocket fold. Geologists think the volcanic rocks originated 20 mya in an area west of Capitol Reef National park and were deposited my volcanic activity.
