Here is a stereographic, polar distortion, or “mini planet” projection of a 6x1 panorama image I had made from several photos I took on March 7, 2010 at the Chestnut Hill Reservoir, in Boston, Massachusetts.

We had a mini “heat wave” that Sunday in the middle of the winter and every body went out to walk, run and bike. It was quite amazing to see how many people were out. It took 5 minutes to get many good silhouettes of people making their way through the Reservoir walkway against the golden end of the afternoon light.

I just learned about the “mini planet” projection from some friends at 500px and I thought it would be a cool way of projecting that panorama image I could not otherwise post in 500px satisfactorily. I hope you’ll enjoy it!
