I had an interesting conversation the other day that made me think a bit. It was with an individual who was born in a place where change is slow and hard to come by. When I asked a question about whether or not a particular system within their country could be changed the answer was no. At first I was put off by this response. Change can always happen - no matter what the situation might be. However, the more I started thinking about it from that individual's view and background, the more I realized why I got that response.

We're taught that the sky is the limit in America and most western societies. We've created a system that's allowed people to take control of their destiny. In most western societies we're given freedom and liberty that is not afforded to other people around the world. To some extent it was that freedom that got us into our current financial/debt mess, and now it's up to us to realize that we have the power to change our ways and mend our system. Without change there is little hope. Life without hope? Well, I 'd hate to imagine life without it.

My point is that when you travel you open your ears and eyes to perspectives that you would never find in the comfort of your birthplace. I'm always fascinated by the perspective I get from others and how it shapes the way I see the world. Never stop traveling my friends!
