Days of rain and boredom, locked up at home.

My mind riding far away towards lost days of glory and friendship, on the sad sublime notes of "Requiem", performed by the Mongolian group Altan Urag. And like a far metronome's beat, only the quiet ticking of my watch beats the time of these wretched hours.

Hence my dive into fine arts, lost in the dark glares of this Swiss companion, built to afford far skies and the lunar unknown sands, still created on the original 1957 project. The forefathers of this ticking friend, watching me from my desk, took part to the great manned missions of the space flight era, from the Mercury to the Gemini and Apollo flights: the epic challenges I used to read about in Italian and English when, as many children, I dreamt to reach the sky.
Burnished steel for purity and strength, an outstanding precision mechanism to ride the waves of time, esalite glass to protect the astronauts from the danger of small blades fluctuating everywhere in their Sixties-fashioned reentry vehicles. Never thought I would ever had the chance to wear one of this jewels of history, design and engineering, but anyway we then met.

For me, the best. Today, a quiet and loyal friend in a rainy day.
