“At The Edge Of The Abyss”
Photographed from 98th floor of the World Trade Center Abu Dhabi during the final phases of its construction. I was the first guy they ever let up with the camera. To take this shot, I had to climb a steep facade which was over 35 meters in length...shitting my pants all the way up. It was, hands down, the scariest place I've ever been to with my camera and I've been on many, many rooftops!
When I finally got up there, I stood at the very tip of the tallest tower in the Capital of the UAE. What a sight it was!!
Those men on the makeshift wooden ledge are standing over the 350 meters deep abyss. I've nothing but respect for the guys who build these super structures.
This is a vertical panorama, stitched from 6 separate shots. Pre-processing was done with Lightroom 4.3. 16-bit TIFF files were exported to Photoshop CS 5.5 where final assembly of the panorama was performed and a bit of distortion correction.
Final grading was done on Viveza 2 and Color Efex Pro 4.
I used Canon 5D mk2 + Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED Lens via Novoflex EOS Nik adapter
