Another species of bird I was extremely fortunate to come across – with the aid of my guide! - at the beginning of last September in Madagascar was the Madagascar Scops Owl, all the more lucky as, once again, we found both the male and female - the one you see here is the female; I'll show you her partner next ;^)

The main difficulties in capturing these images were the low level of light in the spiny tree forest as well as the way the Owls tried to hide themselves deep within the branches of the trees, making it real awkward to find a position to get all of their bodies in; as you can see I unfortunately clipped the tail of this lovely lady ;^.
