Himanshu Desai, Bharat Patel, Saurabh Gabbar & I went to the Dangs to capture the Milky Way yesterday night & what a night it was! Didn't sleep a wink!

Milky way is home to some 100 to 400 billion stars, with our solar system being one of the minute members of this awesome barred spiral galaxy. I was keen to photograph it since a long time & although I had seen & clicked a few hazy shots in Ladakh, the Sagittarius & Scorpio led Milky Way core, was what I was looking for from a long time. Ths week had been declared as the "International Dark Sky Week, & I thought to take our chance in the least light pollution infected region, the Dang jungles.

We were regaled by Himanshu Desai's knowledge & his fantastic telescope, with facts & stories about far flung planets & stars under a cool starry starry night till the star of the show appeared on screen.

& the Star didn't disappoint. At around 2:30 a.m, we saw the core of the Milky Way appear from beneath the spectacular Scorpio's tale & what a sight to behold! This will stay in my thoughts for a long long time.
