As a follow up to my pervious post this was captured on one of the Skellig isles on a typical Irish day with heavy cloud and rain.. What you see here is a sixth-century Christian monastery perched at 160 m above sea level on a ledge close to the top of the Great Skellig .
These Skelligs isles were created 350 million year aago. This old Devonian Sandstone that runs right through the backbone of Kerry - from the county’s south-western headlands to the shores of Killarney's lakes.
