About 1/3 of the way into the river I couldn't help but take note of the fast pounding of the current, waist deep, threatening to take my relatively light body effortlessly downstream. This is perhaps the heartbeat of the landscape, beating clear but green blood... Humans often take for granted the absolute power of the natural world; we take it and tap into it for our own uses without a thought. That is, until one feels that power close up...Two crossings later we stumbled into view of this majestic feature and took it in... Within minutes the rain came and along with it the dense fog, making for these unique atmospheric conditions.
