Before arriving in Madagascar at the beginning of September, by way of documentaries I'd seen over the years, there were several pictures I had in mind of Lemurs in particular situations and was hoping to capture a photo or two of should the opportunity arise. Examples of this visualisation that turned out the way I'd hoped were the series of photos I posted up here previously of the Verreaux's Sifaka flying through the air, and this same species skipping across the ground.

When it came to the Ring-Tailed Lemur, one of the main images I had a clear mental picture of and was really hoping to capture, was of them walking along the ground in single file away from me with their tails held high.

Truth be told, after arriving at my destination and getting so involved in photographing any opportunity that presented itself with any of the four species of Lemur we came across, I can't recall thinking about this particular mental picture again … until one afternoon my guide and I rounded a corner on the way to a different location and saw this wonderful troop of Ring-Tails acting out the scene I'd been visualising before!
