This is the type of image in which I wanted as much of the photograph in focus as possible. I wanted to “see” all the way down the promenade. This image could be described as having a generous depth of field. Everything “appears” to be in focus – starting from the tiles in the foreground extending all the way back to the figures at the end of the promenade.I have walked through this structure hundreds of times. My head down, racing to my next appointment. Oblivious to the light and shadow.I have cycled down this promenade thousands of times when, as a younger man, I worked as a bicycle courier. Ignoring the detail and texture. Now, I see the light and shadow, I see the detail and texture. It has always been there.I just wasn’t looking.
