The watch said 4:53 a.m.....& it wasn't the sun that rose from behind the small hill afar. It was the waning crescent moon! It shone a halogen lamp yellow, as it rose quickly, too quickly for the 30 second exposure of my camera. The stream reflected the lunar glow back & we could only gaze at the heavenly bodies move in their well charted paths. The Milky Way shone at it's brightest with the distant moon light for a brief while & then it disappeared from sight as the moon rose to it's nadir, to draw curtains to a fabulous astronomical show.
