The Namib is a coastal desert in southern Africa and stretches for 2,000 kilometres along the Atlantic coasts of Angola, Namibia, and South Africa. Its name is of Nama origin and means "vast place". Dune 45 is the one on the shot. It's the most famous from the huge world of sands Namib area. Located in the Sossusvlei area, its name comes from the fact that it is at the 45th kilometre of the road that connects the Sesriem gate and Sossusvlei where the road ends. Thanks to its position near the road this dune is possibli the most photographed in the world. If you plan to come here, do it early in the morning or late in the day when one side of the dune is in shadow. But remember that desert will let you use the imagination to create incredibles pictures wherever you will go!
