The lunette known as the 'Walls of China' is one of the main highlights of Mungo National Park (NSW). It is a 30 kilometre long dune formation which protects many thousands of years of human history. Aboriginal occupation of the Mungo NP extends back an estimated 50,000 years or more. The "dry" lake forms part of the Willandra Lakes Region and was one of the first places in Australia added to the World Heritage List.
