It was pretty wet and stormy during a trip up the Oregon coast in December with the Photo Cascadia crew. We did get out to Cape Kiwanda during a brief dry period. I found that the dark sky, rugged cliffs and unsettled water made for a dramatic and yet familiar scene of the Oregon coast.
I blended several different frames for wave motion and worked to create contour and tonal separation in the water and rocks by luminosity painting through various Luminosity Masks on an Overlay burn/dodge layer.
