This has to be one of the most fulfilling yet uncomfortable shoots I've done. We had limited time on the west coast of New Zealand and this starfish colony is best approached only at a very low tide. The low tide while we were there was unfortunately in the middle of the day and not a particularly low one, and there was heavy rain in spurts. Having said that, the oranges of the starfish really stood out from the greyness of the conditions . On the way back, the tide had come in a little and a little misstep saw me chest deep for a few heart stopping moments but fortunately everything was OK except for a wet filter pouch!
