Here’s something you don’t see every day, well maybe you do depending on where you live. This sun halo sat nicely around this tree in Dartmoor National Park in Devon. It is usually caused by ice crystals creating coloured or white arcs and spots in the sky. The crystals behave like prisms and mirrors, refracting and reflecting sunlight between their faces, sending shafts of light in particular directions.
