While I was driving on Hawaii's Big Island I saw so many things I would love to get out and photograph. I saw all these trees sitting in fields all alone and this one caught my eye because it was golden in color and not grey like the others. This tree was about 100 yards off the road and I hiked over with my gear not realizing how difficult it was to get close. The old lava rock you see in the foreground was sharp, loose, and very difficult to find a stable walking point. Although not as treacherous as shooting the lava at the edge of a cliff, it was a good task to get out here. A good thing about Hawaii is there are no snakes and I am sure if this location were anywhere else I would have to watch my ankles! I setup with a grad filter, polarizer, and used my nodal slide to achieve a good nodal point for my stitch in PS. Unfortunately you cannot see the volcano in the background but I love the dream like clouds that were present.
