This little guy allowed me to gradually approach within about three metres during a series of hand-held shots. It was a breezy day and he was bobbing about on his tiny branch. Between the breeze and the hand-held shooting, most of the shots turned out to be too soft, but this one was sharp enough.
A passerby told me this was the bird's favourite perch. He flew away three times while I was there, but always returned to this perch. He appears to be a Rufous hummingbird.
Taken on the edge of Jericho Park, Vancouver, Canada.
