Being home sick with a cold has a it's pluses - I managed to finish editing the sequence of last Saturday morning's full lunar eclipse. This is the first time I have ever tried to do anything like this. I followed the excellent directions on Michael Frye Photography's blog, which turned out to be excellent in terms of shooting strategy. The hard part of this one was achieving a balanced blend in post due to the fact that the sun came up towards the end of the eclipse. I had two choices - use a full moon shot from before, or a dawn shot from the end. It felt extra fake with a frame from the beginning, so I chose dawn. There are a lot of ingredients in this soup, but I think it works! I have two years until I can try again..
