After hearing about the peaking colors at the cascades, I made an impromptu dash to Zion's Subway before the incoming storm.

I had originally planned to hike the Subway the upcoming weekend but the nasty weather forced us to meet in Las Vegas instead to hike Red Rock. As I was leaving for Las Vegas that morning, my friend who had hiked the Subway the previous two days back-to-back, told me that the colors were peaking, and I made a mad U-turn at a gas station and rushed to get a permit and drive out to the Left Fork. I had a late start in morning (I left around 10am), so had to make a mad scramble (still an amazing hike) and caught the light illuminating the tunnel.

The solitude in this place offers another level of peace and awe.
