This was taken at Canyon de Chelly, Arizona. I was very impressed by the Spider Rock pillars (http://500px.com/photo/33670299) and came back the same night hoping to capture a glimpse of them as foreground silhouette. Boy, was I wrong! This area is blessed with close to zero light pollution. So no matter how long and how hard I tried to expose, the foreground is still pitch dark. Fortunately a couple dead trees with their extending limbs came to the rescue!
