I have waited many years to finally fit Monument Valley into our travels. It is such an iconic place in the American West. Unfortunately, our arrival coincided with the major dust storms that plagued Arizona this summer. The winds were incredible and much of the time the sky was filled with a grey dust that completely obscured the sky and the buttes. By the time we moved on, everything we had, the tent, the sleeping bags, our clothes, everything was completely saturated with fine red dust. It's all worth it though when you finally get a moment like this.
