This image was taken a few nights ago during the peak of the Geminid meteor shower on top of a frozen lake in Mount Shasta. I saw 50+ meteors during the first 3 hours, but many of them weren’t picked up by the camera due to the rising moon. The clouds moved into the area shortly after, but I feel lucky to have captured this single exposure of a meteor falling into the peaks above the lake. I was also surprised to see that meteors were coming more from Orion than Gemini.
