The village of Kozjak is situated in a lush little valley surrounded by hills. The history of the village stretches all the way back to the year 1417, and probably even further back in time. However, the first official mention of the village dates back to 1417 when the village was referred to in the Kaptol Archives in Zagreb.
The name itself is connected to the main activity of its occupants – goat breeding (koza – goat, Kozjak – goat place). The Radovecki family has been in the goat breeding business for generations. They are well known locally for their excellent goat cheese.
