Here is another shot from last week out at Mount Saint Helens. Saturday morning I call the Johnston Ridge observatory and ask Patricia the ranger what trails would show me the best views of the Mountain with wildflowers. Patricia informs me that they are 4,000 feet in elevation so the lower trails in the meadow would be best. She suggests the Hummocks trail and so my husband and I set out to do some hiking. The Hummocks trail is a 2.5 mile loop trail and we didn't leave Vancouver till after 3:30 P.M. Long story short, DO NOT EVER LISTEN TO PATRICIA THE RANGER!!!!!!!!! Luckily we made it to a better view just in time for sunset.
