Gates of the Imnaha. I think this is one of my favorite places on the planet. I first visited here last year, but my timing with the light was a bit off. The light is actually best here earlier in the afternoon instead of sunset or sunrise due to the depth of the canyon. This year I made sure to be there before the sun had dipped below the canyon wall. Broken cloud cover provided the amazing spotlighting. I waited until the tower in the middle of the scene was illuminated to release the shutter.Canon 5DIII, 16-35mm f/2.8 L II, polarizer. 1/60 second at f/16, ISO 400. Single exposure value. Two vertical frames stitched for composition and increased resolution.Developing included many small targeted adjustments for color, luminosity and clarity and extensive use of various luminosity masking techniques.
