I was pulling weeds in my backyard when I heard some unexpected noises coming from a clematis bush on our fence. After finally localizing it, I found a young Robin staring up at me, unsure of what to do. He was so close, I thought it would make a nice shot, so I raced inside to get my camera, thinking he'd be gone when I got back. Happily he wasn't; he just sat there, moving very little, probably trying to figure out if he should make his escape or wait me out. He eventually got tired of his new modelling gig and make an ungainly exit, alternately flying and bouncing off the grass.
