Gardens by the Bay (Supertree Grove) #01

Drop by my Facebook Page www.facebook.com/yewyuee for the latest. Due to heavy time constraints, I’ve minimised all activities here but should you be interested, I’ve relegated most photographs to my Sets. I am currently refining my passion in the invisible spectrum (UV-VIS-NIR) while at the same time exploring the basics and challenge of wide-field astrophotography with a DSLR in a light polluted city.

Have a great life ahead!

The Gardens by the Bay is a park spanning 101 hectares of reclaimed land adjacent to the Marina Reservoir. The park consists of three waterfront gardens: Bay South Garden, Bay East Garden and Bay Central Garden. The park is an integral part of a strategy by the local government to transform Singapore from a “Garden City” to a “City in the Garden”.

The Bay South Garden is the largest of the three; its main attractions being the two conservatories (Flower Dome and Cloud Forest) and the 16 Supertree Grove. These unique vertical gardens (the Supertree Grove) of 25 to 50-metres tall have large canopies that provide shade in the day and come alive with an exhilarating display of light and sound at night. Of the sixteen trees, 12 are found in the central gardens of which 2 are connected by a 128-metre long walkway with a height of 22-metres.

[the boring bits] As always, it's a challenge to come out with something fresh; not that I get stressed up as photography is but just a hobby. Here's offering you a different perspective of this latest attraction; framing the Marina Bay Sands with the “supertrees” with a hint of the “long-walkway” backlit by the fast fading sunset. I hope you like it.
