Some of you who read the text in my last post may have been expecting my next upload to show some of those 12 lion cubs I mentioned that the mother was heading off in search of. Trouble is, aside from the failing light at the time, and even though I did get to make something of a head count, those cubs were so well concealed by the long grass that it was virtually impossible to capture any clear shots of them.
Fortunately, of the 18 lion encounters we had over our two-week stay in the Masai Mara last month, there were plenty of excellent opportunities, and more than a few in exceptional light! So in place of those I couldn't capture an image of, I hope this one of a highly alert lion cub will at sunrise will appeal to you!
