Taylor Park Reservoir - Gunnison, Colorado Milky Way

Taylor Park Reservoir at 31 degrees on a June night. The sky had remained clouded out most of the night the temperature dropped to 31 degree F. I nodded off waiting, the sky was supposed to clear.

Then about 2:30 in the morning I woke with a start to see the Milky Way already high in the sky. By the time I was ready and had my equipment sleepily dialed in, I got several shots and then this one shortly before dawn broke at 10,000 feet. Other than leaving a tripod, which I had used to focus the camera on the stars, in the shot it turned out well, so remember, even in the dark, check your shots!
